Headquartered in Bristol since the 1970’s, IOP Publishing publishes over 70 academic journals as well as a growing books programme, conference proceedings, specialist news websites and magazines including the globally renowned Physics World.
As a learned society publisher (we are a wholly owned subsidiary of the Institute of Physics), giving back to the research community is important to us – we are proud to work with partners such as the American Astronomical Society, the Japanese Society of Applied Physics and many others and we have created online community resources within our flagship brand Physics World, to promote innovation, growth and networking.
At IOP we are continually working with emerging technologies to meet the developing needs of the research communities and we’re doing some really exciting things in the constantly evolving digital space.
Playing a big part in the local business community is also really important to us. We support many Bristol and South West initiatives and wherever possible we engage and work with local specialists and suppliers.
Of course we do employ a lot of folk with science backgrounds but you don’t have to be a physicist to have a career here. From marketing, sales or design to IT, finance or HR, there are a multitude of areas where smart people can use and develop their skills and experience.
