F**kUp Nights Bristol
18:00
-21:00
The Square Club, 15 Berkeley Square, Bristol, BS8 1HB
Networking
Most people fuck up at some point…and nearly everyone lives to tell the tale.
Fuckup Nights is a global movement and event series that shares stories of professional failure. The event has been running in Bristol since 2023.
Events across the globe get three or four people to get up in front of a room full of strangers to share their own professional fuckup/mistake. The stories of the business that crashes and burns, the partnership that goes sour, the product that has to be recalled, stories like these will all be told.
~~~
At this event we will have three fabulous speakers who are going to share their mistakes. No happy ending for any of these three stories!
Hanna Mepstead – was entrusted with the care of a politician’s daughter – and managed to lose her in London!
Steven Adjei – Steven will share his stories of a failed business, bankruptcy, and moral struggles!
Owen Jones & Fiona Graham will discuss nearly losing a key client following a rebrand.
~~~
Hanna’s story is just one of the stories from her time as a celebrity’s PA. You might find out which one ‘on the night’!
In addition, Steven will tell us how he got duped out of hundreds of thousands of pounds in three continents!
Lastly, what do you do when a premium client hates your rebrand? Fiona from Devonia and brand consultant Owen reflect on a potentially catastrophic oversight.
~~~
Let’s change the narrative, let’s #ShareTheFailure and learn from it.
TMW x SXSW: The Wild West
08:45
-10:30
Origin Workspace, 40 Berkeley Square Bristol BS8 1HP
Talk
Every year, TMW sends our strategy team out to attend South by Southwest, the world’s biggest technology and arts festival, to learn about the changes that are likely to shape our world and the industry.
But you don’t need to go all the way to Austin, Texas to see we’re living through a period of chaos. The pace of change has become so rapid that predicting the future feels less possible than ever. The models we’ve traditionally relied upon to understand, predict and plan are failing.
There’s vigilantism and lawlessness. Hucksters and quacks. Unprecedented risks and enormous opportunities. You could say: we’re living in the wild, wild west.
Come join our breakfast session to hear the good, the bad and the ugly of SXSW, and our recommendations for how to wrangle the chaos.
Agenda:
08:45 Doors open for breakfast
09:15 Event Start
10:30 Event Finish
