Having presence in the boardroom, making a sales pitch, or giving a presentation that captures and engages your audience isn’t an innate skillset.
For most, mastering these skills require hours of craft and regular practice. These moments are all about performance, but very few are fortunate enough to have been trained in traditional acting techniques that actually resonate and translate effectively at work.
In this informal webinar, voice actor and communication coach Melissa Thom will guide participants through exercises designed to boost confidence ahead of public speaking.
This webinar is for anyone who’d like to learn some practical tips to help unlock the power of their voice, successfully influence an audience and communicate with confidence.
Melissa Thom is the CEO and founder of BRAVA, which specialises in high performance communication coaching.
She’s had a prolific career as a voice actor and has coached hundreds of professionals across voiceover, podcasting, live radio and public speaking.
Melissa extends and improves professionals’ voice, speech and communication skillset in the workplace and beyond.

These sessions take place every other Friday morning from 8.30-9am, for the BCI community to share their pearls of wisdom with one another. The half hour webinars will involve a 15 minute presentation followed by a 10 minute facilitated Q&A, with introductions from the BCI team.
Our community is full of such amazing talent so we’re giving members the stage to talk about things that excite them so they can inspire their peers. The sessions will be a mix of expert tips and tricks and case studies – the perfect opportunity to learn something new before the week is out.
Our usual online format is an interactive ‘meeting’ but for this series we’re running webinars so that it’s easy to listen in while prepping for the day ahead or while having your breakfast! Cameras and mics will be off but you can ask your questions through the chat box or submit them beforehand.

Most people fuck up at some point…and nearly everyone lives to tell the tale.
Fuckup Nights is a global movement and event series that shares stories of professional failure. The event has been running in Bristol since 2023.
Events across the globe get three or four people to get up in front of a room full of strangers to share their own professional fuckup/mistake. The stories of the business that crashes and burns, the partnership that goes sour, the product that has to be recalled, stories like these will all be told.

At this event we will have three fabulous speakers who are going to share their mistakes. No happy ending for any of these three stories!
Hanna Mepstead – was entrusted with the care of a politician’s daughter – and managed to lose her in London!
Steven Adjei – Steven will share his stories of a failed business, bankruptcy, and moral struggles!
Owen Jones & Fiona Graham will discuss nearly losing a key client following a rebrand.

In addition, Steven will tell us how he got duped out of hundreds of thousands of pounds in three continents!
