With live music and poetry from some fantastic talent from the South West, it’s shaping up to be a must-see event on the Music and Poetry calendar.
Each performer will provide 4 or 5 minutes of their latest work.

The single-track event at the M Shed this time features **Jeremy Keith**, **Ire Aderinokun**, **Cassie Evans**, and six other world-class speakers. Topics covered include modern web development in the age of AI, design systems, UI animations, CSS and JavaScript best practices for more accessible websites, tools for a better CSS development and debugging workflow, and designing for international audiences.
Student tickets cost less than half the general admission price, and if you’re a member of an underrepresented or marginalised group in tech, you can apply for a [diversity scholarship] to attend the conference for free (the deadline for applications is 20 May).

For people interested in a lesser well known part of the Dambusters story, there is a new film called Attack on Sorpe Dam that will have a UK Premiere at the IMAX cinema screen of the Bristol Aquarium on Saturday May 13th 2023.
The film features George “Johnny” Johnson’s Dambusters story. The film is for all ages.

These sessions take place every other Friday morning from 8.30-9am, for the BCI community to share their pearls of wisdom with one another. The half hour webinars will involve a 15 minute presentation followed by a 10 minute facilitated Q&A, with introductions from the BCI team.
Our community is full of such amazing talent so we’re giving members the stage to talk about things that excite them so they can inspire their peers. The sessions will be a mix of expert tips and tricks and case studies – the perfect opportunity to learn something new before the week is out.
Our usual online format is an interactive ‘meeting’ but for this series we’re running webinars so that it’s easy to listen in while prepping for the day ahead or while having your breakfast! Cameras and mics will be off but you can ask your questions through the chat box or submit them beforehand.

As part of our membership network, we have over 200 freelancers working within the creative industries. Life can sometimes feel a bit lonely as a freelancer so a networking event like this is an opportunity to meet others in the same position. After the success of our October event we decided to repeat it again for everyone to get together – it’s the perfect chance to catch up with old friends and meet plenty of new faces too!
This event is open to freelancers as well as anyone who regularly engages with freelancers. It will allow you to widen networks, make new connections, discuss common problems, and discover potential opportunities for collaboration going forward. You’ll be sure to head home with a new contact.
The drinks will be held on the Outside Terrace at The Square Club on Berkeley Square. We’ll have a private bar to purchase drinks, plus the food menu will be available if anyone fancies something to eat.
