Most people fuck up at some point…and most people live to tell the tale. Fuckup Nights is a global movement and event series that shares stories of professional failure.
Events across the globe get three or four people to get up in front of a room full of strangers to share their own professional fuckup/mistake. The stories of the business that crashes and burns, the partnership that goes sour, the product that has to be recalled, stories like these will all be told.
At this event there will have three fabulous speakers who are going to share their mistakes. No happy ending for any of these three stories!
Emma took the plunge, determined to create a business with ethical employment at its heart. Come and learn about the lessons she learned about intellectual property and, ultimately, what her biggest mistake was.
‘Bendy Kate‘, the World Champion Pole Dancer who created a worldwide brand, sold tens and thousands of books only now to be closing down her business. Find out why!
Jay went all in on his startup idea in LegalTech, built a product, pivoted and gained traction, raised funds but lost himself and through a series of mistakes is no longer a director. The lessons here come at a high financial and personal cost – but were they worth the price?
Emma’s story is going to resonate with you. When trust is broken, often there is ‘no way back’. Come and hear her heartfelt story of broken trust.
Kate is a full time pole dancer, circus performer and instructor. She is one of the most successful pole dancers to date in both physical accomplishments (world champion, UK champion 3 years consecutively) but also a successful entrepreneur creating a clothing brand, writing 3 books, selling workshops and performances all over the world and more recently opening a studio here in Bristol. After 10 years she is now in the process of closing down the ‘Bendy Brand’ after several hurdles faced in todays economic climate, find out why it all went wrong.
Jay is a lawyer, technologist and optimist. He has worked in and around Bristol at some of the biggest law firms, taught himself to code, hustled to make his ideas a reality and found purpose at the intersection of law and technology. His love of technology is blended with his desire to connect deeply with people he works with. Trying to tame the robots and innovate, what matters most to him is making change for good.
Let’s change the narrative, let’s #ShareTheFailure and learn from it.
All tickets include a glass of wine or beer or two soft drinks plus some canapés (enough to keep your hunger at bay until later in the evening).
Anyone can come to the event. Square Club members get discount, email [email protected] for your discount code.
