Pete will share the story of adidas and the All Blacks and show how a simple shift in thinking can become your brand’s unfair competitive advantage.
You will learn simple lessons that can be applied to any business, big or small, to help deliver more effective communications. There will also be opportunity to ask questions towards the end of the talk.
We’re delighted to be welcoming Pete back after his previous talk back in February about ‘Fearless Girl’ was hugely popular! We jumped at the chance of inviting him back to deliver his newest talk to the BCI community. This keynote will be held at The Station (Creative Youth Network) on Silver Street in central Bristol. Join us from 12.30pm for lunch, with plenty of opportunity to catch up with old friends and make some new connections too. The talk will begin at 1pm.
Business owners, marketing leaders, and the agency teams who help them build their brand and deliver growth.

As part of our membership network, we have over 200 freelancers working within the creative industries. Life can sometimes feel a bit lonely as a freelancer so a networking event like this is an opportunity to meet others in the same position. This event has been very popular in the past so we decided to make it a permanent feature in our events programme. It’s the perfect chance to catch up with old friends and meet plenty of new faces too!
This event is open to freelancers as well as anyone who regularly engages with freelancers. It will allow you to widen networks, make new connections, discuss common problems, and discover potential opportunities for collaboration going forward. You’ll be sure to head home with a new contact.
The drinks will be held in the lower deck at The Square Club on Berkeley Square. We’ll have a private bar to purchase drinks, plus the food menu will be available if anyone fancies something to eat.
Tickets for BCI members are FREE and include a drinks token for the bar. Tickets for non-members are £5 +VAT.
If you’re not yet a member of Bristol Creative Industries and would like to take advantage of this event, you can sign up here. You can also read about the membership perks here.

To keep our event and networking opportunities as varied as possible, we were keen to offer our members more creative ways of networking, so we teamed up with Outside to organise these networking sessions with groups of 12 people (similar to our members’ lunches) who are keen to don their walking boots and explore the stunning countryside around Bristol and Bath. A great opportunity for members to make some new connections within the industry whilst getting some much needed fresh air!
The meeting point for this walk will be The Compton Inn car park in Compton Dando, and we’ll be following this route.
During the walk, you’ll get to spend 10-15 minutes chatting to each of your fellow walkers. No agenda as such, just clear open space for thinking, connecting, sharing experiences about your businesses and exploring possibilities. The BCI team will be joining the group too so it’s a great chance to chat to them about getting the most out of your BCI membership.
This event is exclusively for BCI members and you can book through the button below. The ticket price is £10 +VAT.

This 4 hour workshop will guide businesses through action-oriented activities that are practical but ambitious, and aimed at catalysing innovations in their deep design. By focusing on the deep design of business, the workshop invites businesses to engage in a transformative agenda of becoming regenerative and distributive in their strategies, operations, and impacts, so that they help to bring humanity into the Doughnut.
The workshop will use the Doughnut Design for Business tool that Doughnut Economics Action Lab (DEAL) have created. It will be co-hosted with DEAL.
Those joining the day should come prepared to think through the most ambitious ideas possible to help humanity thrive within the limits of the living planet. They should also come ready to engage with ways their purpose, networks, governance, ownership and financial parameters can all evolve to unlock such ambitious ideas.
