Shape Studio is a design led fabrication team based in workshops in the heart of Bristol. Working at all scales in the commercial, hospitality and retail sectors we approach every project with making in mind.

About You
We are looking for a skilled designer who can creatively interpret a client’s brief and aspirations into designs to exceptional production standard for workshop fabrication. These must be executed within scheduled project timelines.
Experience of working in a fast-paced environment is essential and you will be working with a small team of friendly and creatively encouraging people. You must have a rounded understanding of the commercial design process including architectural structures, spatial design and interior architecture.
We are looking for an individual who is motivated with a creative architectural mind. A candidate who is open, enthusiastic, excitable, curious – and that loves the work they do!

Required skills
Specific Requirements
- Experience with working on projects of different scales and to commercial deadlines.
- An understanding and capability for project management and budgets.
- Experience of full process design including concept design, design development and detailed design elements.
- Ability to interpret a client brief and requirements to produce strong conceptual designs.
- A strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- An understanding of construction methods and an ability to translate these into working drawings for makers in the workshop and on site.
- Effectively managing your own time.
- Excellent communication skills with co-workers and clients.
- Working on multiple projects in parallel.
- A fast learner who is interested in new creative processes and capable of applying their skill set to trouble shoot issues.
- Software preferences: Vectorworks, Rhino, Sketchup, Adobe CC.
