I’ve always loved stories. One of the first memories I have as a child is sitting on my dad’s knee listening to the tales of King Arthur. Tales of knights, fairies, and daring do… A hero coming to the rescue. Defeating the villain. Love conquers all… And, words, how they sound, how they can make us feel, how they can persuade, cajole, or compel us to act – almost without thinking…

As a child I was always asking “Why? What? Or How?” I’m sure my parents wanted to pull out their hair on more than one occasion at my relentless questioning.

I’ve found that my endless curiosity makes me a great storyteller, content creator, copywriter, and editor for purpose-driven organisations.

Before joining the charity sector in 2002, I worked in roles across finance, social care, local authority, retail, and education. Over the past 20 years I’ve worked across fundraising, marketing, brand, and service design. From developing strategies, getting the work done and measuring progress – and failing fast – to creating valuable content and crafting compelling words. 

And guess what? Storytelling is key. It sits at the heart of human communication. Stories provide a framework for organizing and interpreting the world around us.
