As a developmental editor, I provide compassionate, high-quality feedback on the big-picture elements of your fiction. I cover things like plot, pacing, character development, dialogue, theme(s) and setting. I’ll discuss what needs some work, but the aim is for you to come away excited to create the next draft. That means I’ll praise what you’re already getting right too.
As a proofreader, I look at accuracy and consistency. In short, I check the words you’ve written are the ones you meant to. I can help with both fiction and non-fiction – I’ve even taken a course on proofreading references! – and I work with PDFs and Word documents. I can follow a style guide (or create one for you), and I’m comfortable with both UK and US English.
