Like many of my generation, I passed the time as a teen by filming and editing videos with my friends. When I was 16 I realised I could turn that hobby into a career! Thanks to my early start, I now have over a decade of experience in various sectors and all stages of video production.
I specialise in producing and editing but I pride myself on being a bit of a generalist and can do some minor 2D animation with After Effects, sound editing with Audition and I have working knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Blender. I am most comfortable with Adobe suite though I have had experience with Final Cut and Avid.
In my most recent full time role I was part of a small team so I frequently found myself filling multiple roles as needed. I often participated in some creative work, including drafting storyboards, during the pitching stage to support the creative lead and I am comfortable working directly with clients through all stages of production. On set those extra roles included director, 1st AD and sometimes art director.
When producing, my editing background gives me some unique advantages. Though consulting with the team is preferred, I am often able to give post-production time estimates and snap judgments on if a request is possible. It also allows me to fill in resource gaps in post-production during crunch times. As the work at my current job is very post-production heavy, these advantages have come in handy.
