Bella Harley
Filmmaker | Scriptwriter | Librettist-in-the-Making | Visual Storyteller
I’m a Bristol-based filmmaker, screenwriter, and ex-dancer with a sharp eye for movement, myth, and mood. Currently studying Filmmaking at UWE with a focus on cinematography and production design, I create work that feels alive—visceral, cinematic, and rooted in lived experience. Whether I’m writing scripts, scouting locations, or designing sets, I lead with instinct, curiosity, and a hunger for collaboration.
My creative roots stretch back to over a decade of dance training—ballet, tap, modern, and musical theatre—which now shapes my approach to visual storytelling. I’m passionate about performance, particularly ballet, and I’m developing original librettos and narrative structures for dance-based film and stage projects. I dream of one day working as a creative director or producer with institutions like the Royal Ballet or the Royal Opera House, blending classical artistry with bold, contemporary stories.
Outside of uni, I work as a Student Experience Team Member at Unite Students, where I manage events, foster community, and keep things running smoothly on the front line. It’s sharpened my organisational and people skills—essential tools in any production environment.
I’m currently looking for internships, collaborations, or creative assistant roles in Bristol’s vibrant arts and media scene—especially opportunities that intersect screen and stage, or celebrate unconventional voices.
