1. Viking form of Tordoff, meaning Thunderwolf (disclaimer: there seems to be some disagreement in the name history community. But Thunderwolf is cooler than the alternatives.)
2. An empowering term designed to give confidence to those who embody it. Akin to the Superman pose. (I made this bit up)
