I have just started studying at dBs Institute of Music for an MA degree in Innovation in Sound, and I am eager to bring what knowledge and experience I have been gathering at dBs to established operators within this industry. Alongside my current studies, I am keen to build a network to secure a career where I will be motivated to progress and push myself. I am particularly drawn to Music, Sound, and Documentary Film, and the chance it allows me to deliver excellence to both clients and communities, as well as push myself creatively.
My studies at dBs have allowed me to build strong foundations in music composition, sound production and editing, documentary making and exploring the industry through academic research. These are the positions that I find most attractive. Recently, I have been really influenced by a lot of experimental techniques, pushing the boundaries and exploring how audio and visuals can be used in more meaningful and interesting ways.
The diverse range of responsibilities within these roles makes them continuously engaging and requires both analytical thinking and interpersonal skills, both of which I have developed confidence in. I enjoy working in an environment that demands accountability and teamwork, as it pushes me to put forth my best efforts in pursuing both personal and professional development.
Furthermore, I am eager to learn, and I believe that exploring the creative opportunities in Bristol and Bath could provide excellent mentorship whilst giving me valuable experience in an industry I’m keen to exert myself in.
In addition to my academic work, I’ve also had the chance to shadow various industry professionals on several projects in the Bristol area, whilst also creating two music documentaries of my own. These opportunities have allowed me to gain an understanding of the dynamic environment and challenges across the industry.
