A bit about Torchbox

We design and build digital products and services for international NGOs, governments and universities; we’re the digital marketing specialists for many of the biggest charities in the UK; and we created Wagtail CMS, used by Google, NASA, the NHS and thousands more.

Our diverse team of over 120 people is mostly UK-based but with a significant presence in Manila as well as a network of people around the world.

We are on a mission to set a new standard for a purpose-led business. Torchbox is 100% employee-owned – everyone is a co-owner from day one and we are building an amazing, progressive ownership and learning culture. If you are excited about this mission, it’s a great time to join.

What we’re looking for

The Senior Service Designer plays a key role in delivering high-quality digital products and services. You’ll help our clients understand their current offerings and how they can be improved.

With a deep understanding of HCD activities, you’ll plan programmes of work to create effective end-to-end user experiences. You will work as part of a team to deliver intuitive, effective and innovative digital products and services. You are expert in working both alone and in teams with user researchers, content designers, interaction designers and developers. You are skilled in service mapping and translating that insight into compelling products and services. You are proficient in prototyping and collaborating closely with user researchers. Ideally, you are also proficient in information architecture and conducting user research.

You will provide design leadership on Torchbox projects, working in close collaboration with other project leads to direct multidisciplinary teams. You will define and communicate the design vision, bringing clients and teams along on the journey. You will plan research and design activities and ensure user needs are translated into impactful digital solutions, within time and budget constraints. –

We are looking for individuals with initiative that will help drive and celebrate our HCD expertise on projects, within the team and externally.
