Going Live on Instagram is a brilliant way to connect in an authentic way with your followers on Instagram in a format that’s different to feed posts, Stories and Reels. Connecting with you in real time.

Lives are great for engaging your audience, collaborating with other accounts, demoing products, selling your products and creating original and authentic content that can’t be replicated elsewhere.
But do you get the fear with Lives, does the idea of live broadcasting stop you from going for it? If you know going Live would be great for your business but you’ve been holding back then….

If you’ve ever been interested in working as a voice actor, we are thrilled to be offering a 6-week character intensive character class & demo prep with actor, author & master VO coach, Elaine Clark, dialling in direct from San Francisco.
6 Week Course, 2hrs / Wk
13th Oct – 17th Nov 2021
Wednesdays 6-8pm

It’s more than doing funny voices. Your character needs to be specific to each genre, style, audience appeal, and technical performance requirement. Auditions and jobs leave little or no time to develop a character. To prep your character demo, you need time to build a stable of 5-10 characters that you can quickly draw from and build upon.
The goal of this workshop is to prepare and refine your character playbook for a demo, audition, and job. Each week we’ll explore a specific style of character to include on your voiceover demo and launch your career. This is a fast paced workshop with homework assignments. So, be prepared to play!
Class 1: Techniques, Genres, Overview, and Expectations Posture, Stance, Layering Multiple Personality Traits, Letter Focus, Location, and Movement.
Class 2: Cartoons for Kids, Youth, and Adults Animation discussion and homework review. Refine situation, voice, and action for the 3 different age groups.
Class 3: Anime and Toys Perform and adjust Anime Character homework. Perform with direction and adjustments on the Toy voice character homework.
Class 4: Video Game Review the game genres. Discuss the 1-5 intensity levels. Create situations and build out the stories. Rehearse and refine the scripts.
Class 5: Perform an Age and Accent other than your Own Perform homework and make adjustments for the various character styles.
Class 6: Character Styles for Demo Each actor performs their characters, demonstrating the unique style, tempo, voice, voice placement, attitude, audience, and genre that is specific to each character.
Class size is limited to 12max so to reserve and book your place below:
Come and join us for an experimental afternoon drawing from a projected film. Drawing from film has the immediacy of drawing from life, but enables us to step into the mind of the director and bring some of the magic and drama of cinema into our own work. The films will be paused repeatedly for short, five minute drawings (students can ask to pause the film at any point) and the tutor will suggest ideas for making faster, more expressive drawings. It is a chance to create a series of new, unexpected imagery, and work from subjects we might normally never come across.
Some previous drawing experience is helpful, and/or a willingness to dive in and experiment in this unusual session. £35
Discover a range of drawing techniques in structured sessions that are both fun and challenging. Referencing key artists, this course will enhance an appreciation of the methods used and develop your understanding of contemporary drawing practice. Short playful exercises will prepare the way for longer projects, encouraging you to break old habits and seek ways to improve confidence in observation and expression.
Suitable for all abilities, including beginners. All basic materials provided. Please wear an overall or clothes suitable for a studio and bring plastic bags to take wet work home with you at the end of the session. This is a 5 week course on Monday mornings. £125
Join us on Thursday 21st October for a lunchtime Keynote with marketing veteran Anne Thistleton.
We all know that our mind governs the way we see, understand and interact with the world. But until recently we didn’t know how we actually processed all of the incoming data to make sense of the world. Instead, we learned to accept the fact that sometimes we made useful connections and sometimes not.
With the invention of brain scanners in the 1980s and their extensive use for that past several decades, experts have now gained insight into how our mind truly works, how we process information and how we make decisions. Consequently, new marketing concepts from Neuroscience, Behavioural Economics, Neuromarketing, etc. are becoming plentiful. And books, articles, videos, talks, blogs, even neuromarketing consulting and research companies abound. But very few are explaining the basics in simple terms, and very few are clear on the implications for us. What should I do tomorrow to apply this new knowledge to deliver better impact and results for my clients?
Tickets
Tickets are priced at £30+VAT for BCI members and £45+VAT for non-members.
Anne Thistleton is the Founding Partner of LIGHT Consulting and has spent over twenty years as a Marketing Practitioner in the field of Mind Science. While leading strategy for The Coca-Cola Company in South Africa, she pioneered this work to first re-vitalise relationships (and the business) in the South Africa townships then to provide the foundation to the Open Happiness campaign. Since then, she has worked across the world and across industries, developing specific marketing-focused Mind Science applications, and then testing and improving them with multi-national companies, advertising agencies, foundations, even political parties.
Over the years, Anne has worked with many of the world’s leading cognitive psychologists, neuroscientists and behavioural economists all focused on what does it mean to marketers and creatives, and how can we apply it now. By using her expansive marketing experience, she has been able to identify and make practical the most relevant and valuable aspects of Mind Science for consumer and B2B marketers.
As part of this webinar everyone will have the chance to either work on a short monologue or a duologue scene with a partner. There will also be a Q&A at the end of the session so you can pick Nick’s brain about the Radio Drama sector, making a drama reel or anything else you’d like to ask!
Nick Clinch is the founder of Notable Voices, London’s highest rated voice reel and voiceover studio. After working in audio for 15 years – first as a touring session musician, then as a qualified audio production lecturer – Nick was then introduced to directing voice overs in Chicago and has not looked back since . Today you’ll find Notable Voices in swanky studios in West London, working with some of London’s best voiceover agencies, household names, and total acting novices to create long-standing and fulfilling careers in the voiceover industry.
This October we’ll be exploring the ocean’s potential and our relationship with it, taking a (voluntary!) dawn dip to awaken our senses followed by some elemental inspiration from a handful of speakers who all see the sea as a driving force in their creative lives.
