This month’s free Enterprise Nation meet-up for small businesses in Bristol and surrounding areas is on 28 July at 10am.
Come along ready to share a business challenge or need and the always friendly group of founders will come up with solutions!
The event is hosted by freelance journalist Dan Martin, Enterprise Nation’s local leader for Bristol.
Join us at The Square Club on Thursday 8th September from 12.30-2pm. BCI’s members’ lunches are the perfect opportunity to catch up with fellow members and the BCI team and, as some of our lunches are now in person again, you can enjoy a delicious Mediterranean buffet lunch too!
There’ll be plenty of opportunities to catch up with old friends and meet some new faces too. Everyone will have a 3 min slot to introduce themselves and tell the others a little about who they are and what they do and share any news and/or challenges. You don’t need to fill the three minutes but Chris is a rigorous timekeeper! We usually find some common themes emerge which we can discuss over the course of the session. It’s all very informal with no need to stand up and present slides!
The members’ lunch is much more than just pitching; it’s a shared space for connecting with your peers to discuss challenges and opportunities: post-covid issues, maintaining company culture when working remotely, getting rid of office space, recruiting, new business pipeline and conversion, confidence, those on slowdown, those overstretched… the time flies by.
We see businesses of all shapes and sizes during the session. From the managing director of an established 50+ person agency to founders of innovative startups, each month we encourage a variety of members to attend. You’re more likely to meet potential partners or referrers than competitors.
If you’d like to attend email BCI’s membership manager Alli Nicholas at [email protected]. The members’ lunches tend to fill up quickly so if you miss out on this one, you’ll be top of the list for the next!
Going forward, our members’ lunches will be a mix of in person and online events so keep an eye on the calendar for details of future dates.

Shoppers are actively seeking out sustainable, environmentally responsible brands, in line with their values. Join Tim Willis from PushON as he covers how businesses can build strategies, that will see them move in the direction of being more socially and environmentally responsible to attract a new wave of socially aware consumers. These sessions take place every other Friday morning from 8.30-9am, for the BCI community to share their pearls of wisdom with one another. The half hour webinars will involve a 15 minute presentation followed by a 10 minute facilitated Q&A, with introductions from the BCI team.
Our community is full of such amazing talent so we’re giving members the stage to talk about things that excite them so they can inspire their peers. The sessions will be a mix of expert tips and tricks and case studies – the perfect opportunity to learn something new before the week is out.
Our usual online format is an interactive ‘meeting’ but for this series we’re running webinars so that it’s easy to listen in while prepping for the day ahead or while having your breakfast! Cameras and mics will be off but you can ask your questions through the chat box or submit them beforehand.
Please get in touch with Sian if you’re interested in speaking at a future session.
The Wake Up Call sessions are exclusively for BCI members – register your free place below!

Since July 2019 I have been organising a monthly Meetup for BD people in Bristol… it’s a great mix of in-house BD people, business owners responsible for BD, independent consultants, and suppliers of BD related services.
It all started as a solution to the problem of BD being quite a lonely profession, but has become a great resource for learning and collaborating too.
The format is a ’round table’ type discussion, where everyone can contribute, with a maximum number of 15 people attending any given event.
The subject matter is always BD related, and based on the format there is no ‘selling’ or ‘presenting’, just honest discussion and debate and sharing of knowledge.
The events are held online at 9am on the second Wednesday of the month (follow the Eventbrite link below to see more dates).
