We’re thrilled to be hosting the book launch of House of Whisky and Bourbon with the brilliant Andy Clarke this November at The Square Club.

Andy is an award-winning TV producer, festival host and all-round authority on food and drink, having made a career of eating and drinking.

A much-loved member of The Square Club and proud Bristol local, his influence reaches far beyond the city. Whether on ITV’s Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh, at Tom Kerridge’s Pub in the Park events, or behind the judge’s table at the Great Taste Awards, Andy is never far from the culinary spotlight.

House of Whisky and Bourbon is Andy’s third book, following the success of House of Gin and Home Bar, which has been nominated for the Guild of Food Writers’ prestigious First Book Award.

HUM4NS began life as a series of talks among entrepreneurs, providing them with a platform to step out from behind ‘what they do’ and venture into the ‘who I am, what holds me back and how I moved forward’.

HUM4NS provided a platform for ordinary people to share Honest, Uplifting, Motivational, Aspirational, Nourishment for the Soul, inspiring others to take action and build towards achieving their own dreams.

Stepping into a brave new world and opening ourselves up to a new audience, HUM4NS has a simple but important quest; to help the world be a happier, healthier, smarter and kinder place, by providing a place for people to learn, grow and develop.

On the night, you can expect:

– Celebrating HUM4NS

– HUM4NS talks

– Networking/drinks

– Awesome people!

Most people f**k up at some point…and nearly everyone lives to tell the tale.

F**kup Nights is a global movement and event series that shares stories of professional failure. The event has been running in Bristol since 2023.

Events across the globe get three or four people to get up in front of a room full of strangers to share their own professional f**kup/mistake. The stories of the business that crashes and burns, the partnership that goes sour, the product that has to be recalled, stories like these will all be told.

~~~
At this event we will have three fabulous speakers who are going to share their mistakes. No happy ending for any of these three stories!
Hanna Mepstead – was entrusted with the care of a politician’s daughter – and managed to lose her in London!
Steven Adjei – Steven will share his stories of a failed business, bankruptcy, and moral struggles!
Owen Jones & Fiona Graham will discuss nearly losing a key client following a rebrand.
~~~

Hanna’s story is just one of the stories from her time as a celebrity’s PA. You might find out which one ‘on the night’!

In addition, Steven will tell us how he got duped out of hundreds of thousands of pounds in three continents!

Lastly, what do you do when a premium client hates your rebrand? Fiona from Devonia and brand consultant Owen reflect on a potentially catastrophic oversight.

~~~
Let’s change the narrative, let’s #ShareTheFailure and learn from it.
We would like to invite you to a free breakfast talk about the state of the UK television sector, which will be held at Armada House (Wallace Suite), Bristol, BS1 4BH on Thursday, 23 October 2025.
Topics will include the disruption of content distribution that we have seen in the past decade, the outlook for the UK in both scripted and unscripted production, and the disruption of content creation that we are likely to see in the next decade.
The main speaker will be Ollie Wiseman, a partner in the Film and TV team at media and technology law firm Sheridans. Ollie advises clients in the film, television and creative industries on commercial and intellectual property issues associated with the development, financing, production and exploitation of content on a range of platforms. He has particular expertise advising on production legal matters for high budget scripted and unscripted series and films. The “Legal 500” legal directory named him a “Next Generation Partner” for Film and TV in the UK.
Sheridans’ film and television team is one of the leading practices in Europe with many of the most knowledgeable and experienced lawyers in the business. We are ranked Band 1 in the Legal 500 directory. The team represents studios, Oscar winning producers, financiers, SVOD platforms, broadcasters, distributors as well as behind the scenes and front of camera talent. They cover all aspects of the business of film and television including investments in entertainment and talent led business, project finance, development, production and distribution.
The main session will last around 45 minutes, followed by an hour or so of networking where a light breakfast and refreshments will be available.
If you would like to attend, please RSVP via EventBrite or by emailing Meagan Dreihaupl ([email protected]).
This is a behind-the-scenes production test for An Immersive Experience by The Little Boy with the Torch, an upcoming large-scale light and sound installation exploring neurodiversity, sensory overwhelm, and the beauty of human perception.
During this test, we will be trialling the installation’s technical systems, lighting sequences, and sound design inside a temporary setup. Please note this is not the final version of the artwork — elements may change, and the environment will be more experimental than at the finished installation.
We inviten you to experience the work-in-progress and share feedback to help refine the piece ahead of its premiere in 2026.
Key details:
This is a test event, not the final installation
Limited capacity – booking essential
Looping audio, walk-around / sit down
Audience feedback welcomed
Your participation will directly support the development of a new immersive artwork. Thank you for being part of the process.
More info at : www.thelittleboywiththetorch.com
Warning: This test features varying sound levels and some narrow spaces to pass through. The installation contains shifting light that may affect viewers who are sensitive to light or have photosensitive epilepsy.
Whether you’re a beginner or have some experience, this workshop is ideal for anyone interested in learning to draw letters and refining their skill. This is a welcoming and low-pressure environment where you can learn new techniques, spark your creativity, and connect with fellow lettering enthusiasts. A great chance to pick up fresh skills and meet like-minded people.
You’ll benefit from live demos and learn both brush-pen lettering and hand drawing techniques, with lots of tips, tricks and one-on-one guidance. You don’t have to have any drawing abilities; if you can write, you can draw letters using my simple technique.
In this workshop, you’ll create a personalised name plate or sign – perfect as a Christmas gift for a loved one, pet, or child’s room. Bring along a word of 5–7 letters to work with.
Paper and brush pens will be provided, but please bring your own ruler, pencil and eraser.
