Managing Director: Bristol Creative Industries

Bristol Creative Industries (BCI) is seeking an ambitious, commercially driven Managing Director to lead our small executive team & champion the thriving creative ecosystem across the region.

This is a newly created role to shape the strategy, grow revenue, build partnerships & be a proactive voice of one of the UK’s most dynamic creative communities. We’re looking for a strategic thinker who’s equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves to create opportunities & deliver growth for BCI. And, importantly its members.

What you’ll do:

• Lead the development & execution of BCI’s strategy
• Drive income through membership growth, partnerships, sponsorships & new initiatives
• Build strong relationships across industry, education, policy & the wider business community
• Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure smooth running & strong governance
• Inspire, support & develop a small but high-performing team
• Represent BCI confidently at events, in the media & across the creative industries

What you’ll bring:

• Senior leadership experience in a creative, marketing, digital or membership organisation
• A proven track record of business planning, commercial growth & managing a P&L/budget
• Experience in developing & rolling out new products & services
• Success in business development, pitching & partnership building
• Inspirational communication skills & the ability to influence at all levels
• A passion for the creative industries & their role in economic & cultural life in the region

Bringing together freelancers, agencies, creative businesses & inhouse creative / marcomms professionals, BCI supports industries spanning film & TV, media, design, content, marcomms and more.

Through events, networking, skills development, & a thriving community, BCI helps those working in the creative sector learn, grow & connect.

You’ll help shape the future of the South West’s creative sector, working with a strong board, an engaged community & a powerful brand. This is a high-impact leadership role with room to innovate, grow & make a genuine difference in a sector that’s part of Bristol’s DNA.

Salary:

From £60,000 to £65,000
