Using creative strategy to engage and celebrate audiences

16th October 2024

Hey! What? have been working closely with the Bristol Beacon team since April to reposition and elevate the brand post re-opening.

The “Sounds Better With You” campaign flipped the live events narrative to put audiences in the spotlight, recognising the energy they bring to live events at Bristol Beacon. By blending the core values of unity and joy with curiosity-driven messaging, Hey! What? created brand messaging that connects with both loyal and new audiences, making every performance a celebration of togetherness.

After a major refurbishment that elevated its position as a world-class concert hall, Bristol Beacon wanted to consolidate its brand promise of “unity and joy through live music” while positioning itself as a symbol of community and discovery. The challenge was to create a brand campaign that would engage diverse audience personas—ranging from occasional concert-goers to classical music lovers—by spotlighting memorable moments that leave lasting memories long after each event.

THE OUTCOME: SOUNDS BETTER WITH YOU – RECOGNISING THE POWER OF THE AUDIENCE

The new campaign is “Sounds Better With You”, capturing the idea that live events are truly made special by the audiences who fuel the vibes. The campaign celebrated the collective energy of the crowd, reinforcing Bristol Beacon’s values. By placing people at the heart of the campaign, in copy, photography and design,  the audience are the focal point—integrating typography with imagery to create a seamless, people-first visual narrative.
