F*ckup Nights is a global movement and event series that shares stories of professional failure.
Events across the globe get 3 or 4 people to get up in front of a room full of strangers to share their own professional f*ckup/mistake. The stories of the business that crashes and burns, the partnership that goes sour, the product that has to be recalled, stories like these will all be told.
At this third event we will have three fabulous speakers who are going to share their mistakes. No happy ending for any of these three stories!
Claire Baker – Her f*ckup resulted from a combination of growing her first business on the back of one very large client, and the last recession, which ultimately led to her bankruptcy.
Nick Hussey – With his business failing, he was close to suicide. Come and here how he dealt with failure and is still here to tell the tale.
Claire’s story tells of the mistakes she made, fuelled further by drug and alcohol addiction, and what she learned from the experience. Now on business no. 4, and 13 years sober, older, and wiser!
For Laura, things went from bad to worse after signing as US counterpart and taking the responsibility of payment. The client became difficult, leading to a huge unpaid invoiced and a debt her agency was responsible for. Come and find out how she dealt with it.
The failure of Nick’s cycle clothing business left him severely depressed. He was trolled on the internet and was close to suicide. His tale is a salutary reminder of how business failure can have massive knock on effects in many other areas of our lives.
