Support from postgraduate students

8th September 2026

In order to complete a Masters degree, students at Bristol Business School have the option of working with a real business on a consultancy basis. This involves working with an organisation to research and analyse a specific opportunity or issue, before reporting back.

These students are likely to be studying some form of management or marketing. Examples of potential projects therefore include looking at a particular business process, undertaking some form of research, or even helping to develop a new product or function.

Do you have a potential project you’d like a student to work on?  If so, let us know!

  1. We will be advertising potential projects from October 2026 – just a very broad outline at this stage.
  2. Students then apply to work on a project (one student per project).
  3. Students are selected following an interview process (potentially including the business too).
  4. While they work on the projects, students are then supervised by a UWE member of staff as well as a named contact within the business.
  5. Assessment involves a presentation back to the business in Spring 2027.

If you would like to propose a relevant project, or would like to discuss this in more detail, please email [email protected]
