Member Bio
Spatula is an independent creative studio founded by Ollie Ley, working across strategy, storytelling and creative direction. It supports organisations, cultural projects, community initiatives and independent ventures in developing ideas, communication and creative work that are clear, thoughtful and well made.
The studio works across brand and messaging development, film and video production, content strategy, campaign thinking, communication design and wider creative development. Some projects begin with helping define direction, voice and structure. Others are about making the visual and narrative work itself. Often, they involve both.
Spatula has been shaped through experience in filmmaking, creative production, marketing and communications. That mix brings a broader understanding of how ideas are formed, how they are communicated, and how they connect with the people they need to reach. Its approach is systems-led, with a particular interest in work that carries cultural, social or public value.
