Member Bio

Tanya Rich is one of the most established and experienced female voiceover artists in the UK.

She began her voiceover career in the late 1980s, when women in the industry were almost unheard of, travelling to radio stations and Production Houses nationwide to record batches of up to 60+ commercials in one go:)  Trips up to Soho studios were regular events. In 1991 she had one of the few ISDN professional broadcast studios, which kept the mileage down and opened up the world for voice over possibilities.

She was the first woman in the UK to record “on hold” messages for companies’ telephone systems, known as IVR. (1996)

Tanya has also voiced tens of thousands of creative projects in the UK and internationally including TV and radio advertising campaigns, video games, apps, corporate training videos and e-learning projects.

Her clients include household names such as Asda, Great Ormond Street Hospital, Norland Nanny Academy, Historic England, The National Trust, Audible, Radio 4, Coca Cola, B&Q, National Trust, Virgin Trains, The Prudential, Santander International.  Holiday Inn, Disney and Argos. She is also the voice of the lift in the BT tower

She is often asked to appear on podcasts both a voice actor and as a voice acting coach.

In addition, Tanya has dedicated 20 years to bringing fresh talent into the industry. Through her unique coaching arm, RichCraft, www.richcraft.biz she has provided training to 100+ mentees. She developed an “Acting for Microphone” module for Bath Spa University – which is now a marked module – which she has delivered to hundreds of BA Acting students since 2009.

She was invited to be the guest coach at The Birmingham Conservatoire this year, and has been invited back for 2022. She has given presentations at The Once Voice conference . In 2019 it was all about IVR and will be there in 2o21 to talk about E-learning and Corporate Explainers.

She has been a  judge for the SOVAS (society of voice arts) awards in LA for the past 3 years.  She won ‘Best Out-take’ at last years OVC and was nominated for ‘Best Promo Reel’ at the prestigious SOVAS awards. Voquent named her one of the best voice coaches worldwide.
