Member Bio

I’m Jonathan Firin, a commercial photographer working from Spike Island in Bristol. Firin is the Celtic word for truth — and that’s the whole idea behind the studio: my job is to build calm, unhurried conditions where something honest can happen in front of the camera.

I learned photography on film, where you read light before you shoot rather than fix it afterwards, and that discipline still shapes everything I make. I work across editorial and PR, personal branding, corporate events, executive headshots, and architecture and interiors — for clients from solo founders to the BBC, NHS, British Airways and RNIB. I also offer meaningfully reduced rates for charities, social enterprises and not-for-profits — the same photography, scaled to the organisation.

Trained at Central Saint Martins (BA Hons Photography), a member of the Association of Photographers (AOP), and Enhanced DBS checked. I’d rather do excellent work for people who trust me than chase volume — clear briefs, calm shoots, honest images.
