Member Bio
I have performed on stage and screen since 2005, quickly becoming a household face and voice through television commercials, appearing in at least one TV advert in UK & Europe for 10 years (2006 – 2016) without a gap. This got me into voice over work where I worked consistently, voicing on commercials for TV and radio, e-learning programmes, video narration, and animations. I was also a presenter for 16 years on television, commercials, videos and live on stage.
My scriptwriting started in 2008 on the world’s longest running stage sketch show, News Revue (in which I performed for two runs in 2008 & 2009). I have since written for television (BBC Comic Relief 2014 and a series of TV commercials for price comparison firm Paying Too Much), radio adverts, and my own short film that won 14 Best Comedy awards across the international film festival circuit.
And I had 3 years as a stand-up comedian, beginning on Stand Up If You Dare on BBC Comic Relief 2013 where I headlined the finalists. I performed alongside the likes of Phil Kay, Rob Beckett, Ellie Taylor, Reginald D. Hunter, Sindhu Vee & Bish K. Ali.
“Peter is the natural heir to Tim Vine and Milton Jones… a prolific writer and performer, certainly one to watch” [Geoff Whiting, Mirth Control]
After taking several years out of the industry (not by choice but due to personal and family reasons) I completed in a Masters degree in Comedy Writing, graduating with distinction in January 2026. I have also returned to acting, appearing in lead and supporting roles in short films and commercials.
*NB – I was previously credited as Peter Halpin but now work under the alias Peter Oakley due to a name clash.
