We also offer hybrid working – we can work with you at your place of work and from our own base.

- Sustainability – We try to look for the most sustainable options in both the way we work and any outputs or products recommended.
Key People
Miriam Brown
Miriam launched Mulberry Brown Communications after more than 25 years working across PR, media relations, marketing, events and crisis communications, most recently as UK Head of External Marketing and Communications for a FTSE 250 global defence company. After years of operating nationally and internationally, she wanted to return to working more closely with organisations and individuals, particularly across the Southwest, swapping arm’s length corporate process for meaningful client relationships. She offers senior-level strategic advice alongside practical, hands-on support. Her career has been anything but conventional – taking her from theatre stages and music venues to police headquarters, government meetings and boardrooms. She’s sung, acted, written and produced, been a teacher, police officer and is still a public speaker. On paper, it looks eclectic. In reality, it all comes back to the same thing: understanding people, telling stories and communicating effectively when it matters most. Today, she helps organisations build profile, strengthen reputation and navigate challenges with confidence. While providing holistic communications support, she is particularly known for her expertise in PR, media relations, crisis communications and reputational management. She’s worked with everyone from creatives, charities and start-ups to government departments, public sector organisations and multinational businesses, and led communications during terrorist attacks, major incidents, national emergencies, high-profile investigations and periods of intense public and media scrutiny. She’s supported organisations through litigation, regulatory challenges, reputational crises and complex stakeholder issues where trust, credibility and clear communication were critical. Those experiences taught her that successful communications aren’t about having the loudest voice in the room. It's about having the right message, delivered to the right audience, in the right way and at the right time. Alongside crisis and reputation management, she has developed and delivered award-winning campaigns, secured national media coverage, supported market growth, shaped behaviour change programmes and helped organisations find and articulate what makes them different. Clients value her ability to see both the strategic picture and the practical realities, and she can help launch a brand, prepare a spokesperson for a challenging interview, build a communications strategy, secure meaningful media coverage or guide an organisation through a full-scale crisis. She brings calm judgement, creativity and straight-talking advice to every project, whether the challenge is an exciting opportunity or a difficult day at the office. Outside work, you'll usually find her with her family, her elderly Jack Russell in either their camper van or a canoe. She has a weakness for good books bordering on addiction, good wine and meaningful conversations. She is passionate about supporting gender equality, is a keen advocate for the neurodiverse community, and supports anti-bullying initiatives. Communication has been the golden thread running through every chapter of her career. Helping people tell their story, protect their reputation and achieve their goals is what still gets her out of bed every morning, that and strong coffee and a noisy toddler.
