In my view, the only important thing about Design is how it relates to people and this core belief lies at the heart of everything I have done as a human-centred designer and service innovation coach.

I am a Service Designer & educator and also the founder of iLovesMyBike | Bristol.
Made redundant after a long career in industrial and service design, I went back to working with my hands — I originally trained as a potter — and from 2020 used all my knowledge, skills and creativity (and a lot of hard graft) learning-by-doing to create iLovesMyBike, which is now one of Bristol’s most appreciated mobile bike mechanic services.

Six years and 137 five-star Google Business reviews later, iLovesMyBike has proven something I used to only preach to others: that the same design thinking I applied at IDEO, Fitch, Tangerine, Hollington, Engine, HSBC, Bristol Ageing Better, and on Masdar’s zero-waste City (a Strategic Wayfinding project, in collaboration with Global experts City ID) works just as well creating a bicycle servicing and repair business which differentiates in the market by providing a consistently great Customer Experience!
As a returning member to this creative network, I now want to build a portfolio career in Bristol, by running iLovesMyBike through the remaining Summer months, before being open to Service Design / UX consulting opportunities, with the intention of returning to consulting through the Autumn and Winter months of 2026/7.

If you need someone who has spent 25 years helping Business solve complex human-centred problems creatively, then six years more proving the theory by building a sustainable micro service Business with a very robust Customer Experience baked-into it’s core — let’s talk?
