I am Director of Jewell Facilitation – a small but perfectly formed Facilitation and Organisational Development Consultancy based in Bristol.
What do we do? Well on the face of it, it looks like we run around with post it notes and pens, lots of flipchart paper and occasionally bags of Lego, making people sit in small groups talking to each other.
Deep down though what we are actually trying to do is to create space for groups of people (usually internal teams) to create strategies, come up with brilliant (and often brilliant-adjacent) ideas, review projects, make decisions, work out problems and find consensus around things like their purpose, values, culture, ways of working and a whole lot more.
We are big on diving into those complex conversations, embracing uncertainty and not trying to iron things out too much in the name of alignment (because too much alignment is the enemy of innovation).
We like to untangle things…..just enough.
