At Funlab there is an understanding that every project has a ‘big idea’ no matter the size, no matter the value. With that initial idea the solution is found by working with you and understanding your requirements, the site context and planning policy constraints in order to refine the project brief.
Combining the commercial nature of large practice and the flexibility of bespoke studio is where Funlab seeks to find a niche for the first time domestic client and professional clients alike.
With a diverse experience of clients across multiple sectors Funlab can tailor a service from pre-planning feasibility studies through to technical design and site delivery.
Funlab promotes collaboration and teamwork. Good design is achieved only by working as a team.
We are able to be appointed by project managers, consultants and contractors along with direct client services.
Key People
Luke Hayes
Luke qualified as an Architect following an education at the University for Creative Arts in Canterbury and University College London, The Bartlett. Prior to Funlab Luke worked for award winning practices in London and Somerset. While in London he designed and delivered projects across sectors form residential and mixed use to education, commercial, hospitality & leisure. He also consulted on prominent urban development schemes such as Battersea Reach and high level 'New Town' plans along the Oxford - Cambridge Corridor. He likes pushing the planning system working with RTPI Planners to extract the most out of the scheme to maximise client value. A core belief is team work that comes from a back ground in Rugby [ssh he used to don the 11 & 13 shirts you wouldn't think he once had gas]. A successful project has the right team in place at the right time working collaboratively rather then individuals just dropping data. Away from the work place Luke likes road and mountain biking, making new bikes from unloved frames, brewing beers and wines, but most of all having FUN.
