Annette (Nettie) Sloly is a Senior Clinical Solution-Focused Hypnotherapist and Performance Anxiety Coach with over 14 years’ experience supporting professionals, creatives and performers to manage anxiety, regulate their nervous system, and function more effectively under pressure.
Her work focuses on helping people navigate situations involving visibility, evaluation and performance, from public speaking and leadership challenges to stage performance, creative practice and professional communication. She is particularly interested in how anxiety affects cognition, communication, presence and functioning in high-stakes situations.
Her clients include speakers, performers and creatives working in high-visibility environments. She has supported individuals appearing at internationally recognised literary and music festivals, conferences, concerts and live events, as well as those working across television, theatre and music, including actors, singers, touring musicians and emerging artists participating in record label artist development programmes.
Alongside her clinical work, Nettie is co-founder of Raconteurs Bristol (formerly Bristol Speakers Club), a voluntary community initiative supporting storytelling, communication and public-speaking confidence through psychologically informed, experiential practice.
She is also co-creator of Lux Nova, an immersive sound and data collaboration with David Sloly, currently in residence at The Studio, Bath Spa University. Their work explores hidden structures within scientific and astronomical datasets through immersive sound, bringing together interests in perception, creativity, listening and emerging technologies.
London-born and Bristol-based, Nettie continues to draw inspiration from Bristol’s creative, independent and collaborative spirit.
