A new series of talks and networking events for Somerset, Wiltshire and Bath kicks off on Thursday 8th October, with all ticket profits going to local charity Fair Frome.
Frome web design studio Yellow Peach is launching Frome Digital Exchange (FDX), a new series of talks and networking events for business owners, marketers, designers, developers and creative minds working across Somerset, Wiltshire and Bath.
There’s a wealth of digital and creative talent in and around Frome, but until now there’s been very little in the way of events or community to bring it together. FDX aims to change that by giving people doing good work in the area a regular place to meet, share ideas and make useful connections.
“Frome has a brilliant mix of designers, developers, marketers and business owners doing really interesting work, but there’s never been anywhere for them to come together,” said Will Lawrence, founder of Yellow Peach.
“FDX is our attempt to change that. We want it to become a regular event, somewhere people can hear ideas worth talking about from people working locally, meet a few new faces, and do some good for the town and local area at the same time.”
The FDX Line-Up
The first event takes place on Thursday 8th October at Little Walcot in Frome, running from 9:15 to 11:00. After coffee and pastries on arrival and a welcome from Will, four speakers will take to the stage.
Iestyn Keyes, CEO at Bath-based Shopify Plus agency blubolt, opens with How to Prepare Your Online Store for Agentic Commerce. As more customers start asking AI agents to find and choose products for them, Iestyn will look at what makes a business the one that gets recommended, with lessons on AI visibility that apply well beyond ecommerce.
Jay Bigford, founder and creative director at Yoke, follows with How Narrative & Design Can Inspire & Drive Change. Yoke works with organisations tackling major environmental and social challenges, and Jay has spent more than a decade helping nature, climate and advocacy groups turn complex ideas into storytelling that people act on.
Sally Hunt and Harriet Barter, co-founders of Bath and Bristol paid media agency Floresco Media, will present 2027 & Beyond: The Future of Digital Advertising. With platforms taking over more of the targeting, bidding and even creative, they’ll explore where the advantage now lies for brands, from performance creative to the quality of the data and ideas they bring to market.
Finally, Lenka Grimes of Fair Frome will speak on Making an Impact in Frome, and what local businesses can do to help.
The morning closes with networking until around 11:00.
Supporting Fair Frome
Fair Frome is the charity partner for FDX, and every penny of profit from ticket sales will go to the charity. Fair Frome works to tackle poverty and hardship across the town, providing food, furniture, fuel and practical support to people who need it.
